Yes, our very own Kelly Stevens is a mom again!
Carter Christain was born @ 3:27am on July 21st, 2007
He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 inches long.
After a few complications, mom and baby are both doing well and are now home with dad (6'8") and big sister Zoey Grace.

How to Talk Your Way Out of a Traffic Ticket
#1.) DON'T GET UPSET. Throwing a fit doesn't help anything, and it can actually make the cop THAT much more intent on giving you the ticket. Just be nice. . . and take it easy.
#2.) MAKE THINGS EASY FOR THE COP. Pull far enough off the road so the officer can pull off safely, turn on your dome lights and have your license and registration ready.
--The easier you make it for the cop, the less likely they'll be annoyed and want to give you a ticket.
#3.) ADMIT YOU MADE A MISTAKE. Your explanation is the critical moment in the entire situation. Admitting you made a mistake helps out a lot. Tell the officer how sorry you are and how it won't happen again.
#4.) DON'T ARGUE WITH THE COP. Arguing with the cop makes you a difficult person. . . and gives you a pretty decent chance that you'll be driving away with a ticket.
#5.) Don't talk on your cell phone while you're waiting for the officer to approach your car.

Beat the Heat Tips from AC & Kelly
Use someone else's air conditioning....go to the movies, the mall, the library, etc. Hey, visit a friend's house and take advantage of their AC.
- Eat small meals and eat more often. (Ya' don't have to tell us that one twice.)
- Avoid foods that are high in protein which increase metabolic heat. Carb meals are lighter and easier to digest. Bring on the pasta salad.
- Freeze a container of yogurt. Let it thaw for 10 minutes and it's like eating ice cream!

- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothes. Time to wear that perfect all white outfit in your closet. Think white and/or Khaki.
- Drink water. Carry water or juice with you and drink continuously even if you don't feel thirsty.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine, which dehydrate the body. Sorry, you'll have to make those drinks "virgin" and forget about the frozen mocha latte cappucino today. Does frozen chocolate count?
- Buy some Ice Cream and save $$ by printing out the Ruggle's coupons below.

AC & Kelly got to "sample" the new flavors of Ruggles Ice Cream....Uncle Sam Sugar Cookie (Vanilla with reall sugar cookies and red and blue sprinkles) and Besty Ross Berry Crisp (Vanilla ice cream w/ Raspberry and struesel swirl. Mmmmmm mmmmm.
For Kelly (who's 8 months pregnant) getting to eat ice cream for breakfast was a dream come true.

Do you know when they are?
--AIRPLANE TICKETS. Buy them on a Wednesday, 21 days or so before your flight. Airlines make major pricing changes on Tuesday evenings or Wednesday mornings. And three weeks before a trip, they mark down tickets to fill empty seats.
--BABY CLOTHES. Buy them during your pregnancy. . . but at the end of a season. If you're pregnant now, for example, buy clothes in late November, at the end of the fall season. That's when they're cheap. . . and you can use them next year.
--CHAMPAGNE. Buy it in December. That's when the champagne houses are in the most competition for New Year's and holiday business. . . and that price war lowers YOUR costs.
--CLOTHING. Buy an item you like on a Thursday night, six to eight weeks after it hits stores. After it's in the store for a month, the price starts dropping. Thursday nights are good because weekend sales have begun. . . but the selection isn't picked over.
--ELECTRONICS. Buy them just after a new model launches. Keep your eyes open for new product announcements from major manufacturers. . . then, when they release a new model, watch the price on the old one go down. Example: This just happened with iPods.
--GAS. Buy it early in the morning, or late in the evening, on a weekday. Stations are most likely to change their prices between 10 A.M. and noon, so get gas earlier than that if gas prices are going up.
--If prices are falling, like now, go late in the day, when the price has been dropped once or twice. And go on weekdays. . . stations are more likely to hike up prices on the weekends to hit people going on vacations.
--GROCERIES. Buy them Sunday evenings. On Sunday, you'll have access to coupons from the morning's paper. . . and the sale merchandise will have just been restocked, so you'll have the best selection.
--WEDDING DRESSES. Buy them between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Boutiques stock up for the post-holiday rush. . . since a ton of people get engaged over the holidays. But, before Christmas, inventory is high and sales are low. . . so you can bargain.
